A New Year

If we want to experience a great New Year we must go to the Source that will make it all possible. Our Lord gives us seven keys…seven daily rules to live by in 2011.

1. Wake Up!
Decide you are going to have a good day every day through out the year. The Psalmist says in Psalm 118:24 “Today is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

2. Dress Up!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. It is a very inexpensive way to improve your looks. I Samuel 16:7 says, “The Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

3. Shut Up!
Say nice things and learn to listen to what is being said to you. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. Solomon says in Proverbs 13:3, “He who guards his lips guards his soul.”

4. Stand Up!
Stand for what you believe. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. Paul says in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

5. Look Up!
Look up to the Lord. Paul gives us one of the greatest promises every given in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

6. Reach Up!
Reach up for something higher. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge the Lord, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

7. Lift Up!
Lift up your prayers daily to the Lord. “Do not worry about anything; pray about everything.” Philippians 4:6

Have a great 2011!
