GOD’S WORK CONTINUED

What an incredible thought…God’s work continued even after we are dead and gone! Have you thought about it? Recently, I was inspired by that amazing thought and fact. As a result, I was taken to God’s Word in Philippians chapter one and verse 6. "…Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." These words of the Apostle Paul should inspire all of us to plant the right seeds while we are living and have the opportunity, because there will always be a reaping!

- Jerry Falwell is dead, but God’s work continues to new levels at Liberty through his son   Jerry Jr. and at Thomas Road through his son Jonathan.
- J. Vernon McGee has been dead for years, yet his "Through The Bible" ministry can be heard   every day on radios across the country.
- Adrian Rogers is dead, but his great expositional preaching ministry continues with "Love   Worth Finding."
- James Kennedy is dead, yet his "Truths That Transform" continues daily on radio outlets.

Paul is saying three things in verse 6 in Philippians 1.

1. THERE IS A WORK OF FAITH

"Being confident of this very thing"
A. Faith in God’s plan He has a plan for everyone
B. Faith in God’s provision He is our supplier
C. Faith in God’s Person Jesus is our greatest Friend!

2. THERE IS A WORK OF FAITHFULNESS

"He who has begun a good work in you will complete it."
A. Our Lord secures us We are covered and protected with His blood covering!
B. Our Lord shelters us We "abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
C. Our Lord stabilizing us His Holy Spirit gives us the stability to keep us faithful and fruitful.

3, THERE IS A WORK OF FINALITY

"…Until the day of Jesus Christ"
A. It requires dedication A life of full surrender to God’s will is the happy life
B. It requires discipline Every morning our life is disciplined to live in God’s Word during the    day
B. It requires determination The race we are running is a long distant race to the end, It is    not for the faint hearted.

Our Lord is coming sooner than most of us think. May He find all of us faithful in the ministry He has given to us. There will be a great harvest!
