HAPPY NEW YEAR GREETINGS:

 I trust that 2012 is off to a good start for everyone and that it will be productive and prosperous for every SGPA member as well.

I have spoken to several SGPA members and they have indicated that due to the declining economy that they would not be attending the May meeting in Nashville.

When I discussed this matter with the Officers, they agreed that maybe we should shift the May meeting this year and combine with the September meeting in Louisville. Our By-Laws state that we have scheduled meetings in May and in September. Our Legal Counsel explained that we could forgo the May meeting if it was determined that the majority also agreed to combine it with the September meeting.

Therefore, I am asking for your opinion by responding ASAP as a decision must be made shortly in order to reserve hotel space. The only item on the May agenda was the election of officers and this item may be postponed until the September meeting.

As you will recall, I informed SGPA members at NQC that I would step down this year in May. But if this change is accepted, I would remain until the election in September. We are in the process of preparing job descriptions for the offices of President and Membership Chairman. All interested members for these positions should provide requests to my office and/or any officer at their earliest convenience.
